Issue #0.18

The Dirtbag Era.

QUEUE

What’s poppin,

As the title suggests, this is the Dirtbag edition & we’ve got 3 absolute bangers for you.

Enjoy..

Track 1:

Blession - Talk 2 U

Randomly heard this song earlier this week & its got that Queue favorite mix of happiness & melancholy. Song is essentially a “Please forgive me for doing you dirty” plea for forgiveness, but done suavely. A classic case of “You gon believe me or them lying ass screenshots?” and she believes the screenshots 😔.

A fusion of afro-beats with RnB, the beat’s got a spacey atmosphere that utilizes a toned down amapiano bass, intermittent guitar strings & a beautiful melody that ties it all together. Blession signing his ass off too, bro pulling out all the stops, #Downbad. Please take in the lyrics, #PrayingForBro 🙏🏾.

Track 2:

SAHXL - TTUP

SAHXL an artist hailing from Australia, a country which once waged a war against Emus (Real spill, google it) jus got on our radar w this one. This sounds like prime Tiller, talking bout TRAPSOUL Tiller & we not making that comparison lightly.

Featuring dirt bag lyrics delivered with finesse, over an extremely dynamic and captivating beat that morphs & evolves mid-way through to open up another dimension with a different flow to match. I’ve always loved when a song feels like an adventure that you goin on with the artist & this track does exactly that.

He one to look out for fasho. (56.6K Monthly Listeners)

Track 3:

Don Toliver - Deep In The Water

This last track is as wholesome as it gets and it brings us full circle. The redemption arc from dirtbag to proud upstanding father. Don is fresh off having his first child & you can tell fatherhood was the inspiration for this masterpiece. Even the name is an ode into how he’s in too deep; the lyrics are an amazing depiction of a former gooner trying to reform himself & change his ways for the better.

“You want me done with the strip clubs, you know i’m done with them dancers” really pulls on your heartstrings. Bro’s found the one & is puttin away childish things. Strip clubs are a young mans game anyway. #Growth

The track uses a mesmerizing Léa Sen vocal sample from “Better” that hypnotizes you and the beat has you feeling like you’re floating, classic Don Toliver.

I’ve played this over 80 times today, best song I’ve heard recently. A MUST add to Queue.
