The Shakeup.
QUEUE
What’s poppin,
We’re tryin something new with this edition; we’ll be adding the monthly listeners of the artists we feature moving forward (as of that day).
It’ll be fye to revisit to these posts in a few months & see how much they’ve grown.
More importantly… we’ll have documented evidence showin we was really day 1’s.
That bein said, lets put you on..
Track 1:
Nippa - Reverse
Nippa a rising artist out (you guessed it) the UK, is defs gon be a force to be reckoned with in the RnB genera. His vocals are reminiscent of Jaquees & his delivery is silky smooth. I’d understand if some guys didn’t want him chattin to their shorty. Not me tho, im emotionally secure 😁.
Ngl tho due to the lyrics, I wouldn’t stand front row with my girl at his concert. I’d rather not become a twitter meme.
Definite add to queue. (121K Monthly Listeners)
Track 2:
Gdup - 10 to 10
We’ve had this song on repeat since we first heard it, beautiful melancholic guitar led melody intertwined with drums & 808’s that add a resounding depth to the track. Our favourite blend of lit & melancholic. That harmonious trap.
Gdup’s lyrical prowess is on full display, wordplay on wordplay. Each bar is caption worthy. We’ll leave you with one of the most thought provoking lines “Can’t hit that joint if she ain’t a 6, 8 or 10, WHY, im too even”, not saying we support his views but … he makes a compelling argument.
Defs gon wanna add this to your rotation ⬇️. (14.6K Monthly Listeners)
Track 3:
Kenny Mason - Jumpin In
Jumpin into it with a lil history lesson, this tracks got a hard hittin beat thats heavily sampled from “Guess I always Knew” by Love Apple, a song that was recorded in the 1970’s but wasn’t released until 2012, due to a publicity stunt gone wrong (I went through the randomest rabbit hole figuring this out). #NoRegrets tho, song slaps.
The soulful sample is so beautifully interwoven into the modern trap beat, with the bands vocals used as another instrument that intermittently makes appearances throughout the track. It’s an amazing production. Kenny does his thing with the delivery, the flow is gripping & addictive, this definitely isn’t a song you can play just once. It’s like a vape, you can’t just hit it once.. #needthat
The music video hard asl too, its a 2 Min, A24 caliber psychological thriller. (2.1M Monthly Listeners)
